In recent years, an over-pressurized valve exploded at a plant. Ignited by a welder’s torch, caused by rushed workflows and ignoring safety rules, the explosion scarred a community and harmed nearly two dozen workers.

The company’s response was the same as many other companies’:

“Get back to work, or you’re fired.”

A group of courageous but injured and traumatized workers did their best to go back to normal life—only to find that their normal lives were behind them. There was no going back. The question they had now was, “What do we do next?”

In our newest film, Arnold & Itkin recorded the stories of a handful of remarkable workers, all of whom found themselves risking their lives for a company that didn’t return the favor when they needed help most.
